Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..”, comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

SUSEL

We’ve studied the chart of the saint we call Susel

Examining every detail

We’ve given each aspect a thorough perusal

On the finest and subtlest scale

Her desires, we see, will not meet with refusal

There’s no chance that momentum will fail

And thus we conclude of the saint we call Susel:

Toward enlightenment quickly she’ll sail

As people find out what is coming, the news’ll

Spread round the world, far and wide

And more and more people, when asked what they’ll choose’ll

Fall right behind Susel in stride

They’ll come to the Centers, they’ll learn that all shoes’ll

Be left at the door, just inside

And filing right in, by one’s and by two’s’ll

Be glad that they came for the ride

They’ll hear that the one thing a person can lose’ll

Be stress — all their cares will subside

They’ll lose their grey skies, all the drizzle and droozle

And good fortune will rise like a tide

Religious folks — folks who like sitting in pews’ll

Find there’s no clash with belief

And skeptics — the folks who must doubt all good news’ll

Find our research a relief

People of varied vocations and views’ll

Discover their great common goal

And countless deep benefits people can use’ll

Make folks feel part of the whole

In Fairfield, everyone — townies and ru’s’ll

Be one great big happy community

And anyone left who’s still singing the blues’ll

Be swept right along into unity

The birds with their chirps and the cows with their moos’ll

Be happy as happy can be

And the world, with Heaven on Earth’s golden hues’ll

Be peaceful and happy and free

This is the chart of the saint we call Susel

The truth, the whole truth (we wouldn’t bamboozle)

The radiant truth of the saint we call Susel

And her amazing and great destiny
