VICKI
She’s warm, and she’s wise, and she’s witty
She’s patient, she’s perfect, she’s pretty
An author, a lawyer —
We revere and enjoy her
The lady called “Mrs. Committee”
Her motto is “TGIT”
Which stands for “Thank God It’s Three” —
That magical hour
Her power will flower
And off to some meeting she’ll be
From January through to December
In every last fire she’s an ember —
If there’s a committee
Anywhere in this city
Chances are Vicki’s a member
EC and FAPC
ASC and SAC
M-I-C-K-E-Y —
How does she fly so high?
No one’s as active as she
In Housing, she long was enshrined
So resourceful, she boggled the mind
Trailer, frat, pod —
A veritable god,
Finding space where there’s no space to find
The Council called Student Affairs
Was also once one of her lairs
Her student affairs
Were only in chairs
And Vicki was free from all cares
And now she’s the Management Chair —
Teaching more than anyone there
Heaven has sent her,
This marvelous mentor —
The soul of compassion and care
She teaches . . . and teaches . . . and teaches
The number of hearts that she reaches!
The laws of taxation?
A student sensation —
They laud her in all of their speeches
Her brilliance arrives in big bunches
Refined intuition . . . great hunches
Sunday mornings, behold
Full potentials unfold
When Vicki is serving her brunches
After the phone calls, the faxes
It’s good to know Vicki relaxes:
On a cold winter’s night
Before shutting the light
She reads a good book about . . . taxes
Her cooking’s the heavenly manna
(Love that coconut rice with banana!)
Then, boom! — there you are:
She’s off in the car
To spend a few days in Montana
It’s just down the road —and quite nice
How far? Oh, two days — don’t think twice
But we all were concerned
On that day that we learned
Of her excellent adventure on ice
Or that time when the engine burned out
And they bought a new Prius en route
Dear Vicki, be careful —
You travel, we’re prayerful —
Give us nothing to worry about!
She knows everything, everyone
She’s gets the undo-able done
She balances forces
Between teaching courses
She’s clearly three (people) in one
Let Vicki’s ovations be thunderous
This lady who’s no less than wondrous
May she ever astound us
Run circles around us
(As well as over and under us)
She’s down to earth — not world-otherly
With people, she’s sisterly, brotherly
But the character trait
That makes her so great
Can be summed in one word — and that’s motherly
With verses I’ll no longer bore you
I’ll put one last datum before you
If heaven’s arriving,
In Vicki it’s thriving —
Dear Vicki, we simply adore you
Happy birthday, Vicki!

Vicki’s House
Sung to the tune of the Mickey Mouse Club theme song:
Where’s the place we love to be
When Sunday rolls around
V-I-C-K-E-Y — MIU’s MC
Where’s the place on Sunday morn
The in-crowd will be found
V-I-C-K-E-Y — MIU’s MC
Vicki’s House
Vicki’s House
With Vicki serving brunch to everyone
Where’s the place on Sunday morn
Where fullnesses abound
