Steve and Dori Rector

June 23, 1997 • Going Away Party

In the spring of 1997, Steve and Dori Rector were asked to go to Atlanta to set up the Chronic Disease Program there. Dori had been an assistant professor in the Psychology Department. Steve had been working in the emergency room of the Ottumwa Hospital, as well as serving on the committee of doctors that had planned the College of Maharishi Vedic Medicine. Pat and Mike Robinson had a great farewell potluck picnic at their home.

Steve and Dori

You go in a blaze of great glory
But not at the end of your story:

You’ll be putting the squeeze
On chronic disease —

All praise to the great Steve and Dori!

We declare on the eve of your leave:
You’re beloved like you wouldn’t believe

But you’ll never depart
From our unified heart —

All love to dear Dori and Steve!

Now Atlanta’s the point of your vector
You’ll be its great pride and protector

And wherever you’re staying
They’ll join us in saying:

Hail to Dori and Steve Rector!
